Pixel Devices Never Lose Data, Even After Being Repaired Your Device

Pixel Devices Never Lose Data

Google has unveiled a new feature exclusively for Pixel devices that aims to safeguard your data while your device is being repaired. By enabling this feature, you can prevent technicians from deleting or restoring your data during the repair process, while also facilitating diagnostics. Additionally, this feature ensures the protection of your data from unauthorized access.

To activate this mode, simply navigate to Settings > System > Repair mode and follow the provided instructions. Similarly, you can deactivate the feature by following the same steps. It is important to note that although repair mode should protect your data, it is always advisable to back up your data before any repair service, if possible.

In addition, Google has introduced a new diagnostic app accessible through the Phone app on your Pixel device. This app allows you to gain a better understanding of any issues your device may have prior to repair and verify its proper functionality once it is returned to you. To run the diagnostics, enter #*#7287#*# on the keypad within the Phone app.

Furthermore, Google is committed to simplifying the process of resolving phone-related issues for users. In collaboration with iFixit and Shyft Global Services, the company now offers genuine Pixel parts and repair manuals. Information on how to order specific parts and access repair manuals can be found on the Google Help site. Currently, repair manuals are available directly from Google in English and French for select devices, with plans to expand availability to more devices and languages in the near future.

What to Do If You Need Repairing Your Pixel Devices?

Pixel devices are known for their quality, but like any technology, they can sometimes encounter issues. The repairs for Pixel devices typically involve common problems like screen replacements due to cracks or malfunctions, battery replacements, camera repairs, or fixing issues related to charging ports or software glitches.

If you're experiencing problems with your Pixel device, there are a few options to consider for repair:

Google Support: If your device is under warranty or you've purchased additional protection, contacting Google Support could be the best option. They may offer replacements or repairs depending on the issue and warranty status.

Authorized Service Centers: Google often partners with authorized service centers that specialize in repairing Pixel devices. These centers have trained technicians and genuine parts for repairs.

Local Repair Shops: Some local repair shops might offer Pixel device repair services. Ensure they use authentic parts and have experienced technicians.

Self-Repair: There are DIY repair kits available online, but these can be risky if you're not experienced. It's essential to follow guides meticulously and be careful with delicate components.

Before choosing a repair option, check the warranty status of your device and what it covers. Additionally, back up your data if possible before handing over your device for repair.

The Google Pixel Watch has been updated with new features

The Pixel Watch's December update, with the version number TWD9.231205.001, introduces new features and improvements. Users can now enjoy the 'Do not Disturb' and 'Bedtime modes' on their Pixel Watch, which were previously available on the latest-generation smartwatch. This update also allows users to sync both modes between their Pixel phone and the first-generation Pixel Watch. Additionally, the update brings new watch faces and complications to the device.

Furthermore, this update addresses an issue that caused image retention on the Pixel Watch 2, as reported by some users. It also includes the December security patch for both the first and second-generation models, as well as the LTE variants.

In addition to these enhancements, the December feature drop introduces the Call Screen feature on the Pixel Watches, although it is currently limited to the US region. With this feature, users can screen calls and respond with quick messages directly from their wrist. Moreover, Pixel Watch users now have the convenience of unlocking their paired smartphone when it is nearby.

Please note that the December Feature Drop update is being rolled out to the Pixel Watch series gradually, so it may take some time before it reaches your device. However, users can try to force the update by going to Settings > System > System Updates.
